How we
compare schools.
We compare published exam results. Scores are only one part of choosing a school; teaching, support and school life matter too.
What we compare
- IB Diploma: average score out of 45 for all diploma students. You can also compare pass rates.
- Cambridge A Level: the share of all exam entries graded A* or A.
- Cambridge IGCSE: the share of all exam entries graded A* or A on the letter scale.
Each qualification has its own ranking. We exclude AS Level, predicted grades, selected students, single subjects and mixed exam boards. Unconfirmed boards are noted in school info; “Source-checked only” excludes them.
Fair comparisons
We compare the same exam, period and measure. Choose a year or All years. Annual results and exam sessions stay separate.
All years: an equal average of available yearly results. Missing years are skipped; each year uses one source. The minimum student filter must be met every year.
Group results are not assigned to individual campuses. Campus results stay on their profiles. We show student counts when known; minimum-size filters exclude unknown counts.
How ranks are calculated
Higher scores rank first. Equal scores share a place: 1, 2, 2, 4. Filters recalculate ranks for the schools shown.
Our sources
We use school websites, associations and other publications. Reports are not independently verified. Each result includes its source, evidence, year and check date.
The school’s info icon explains source checks. We check numbers and years for errors. Rankings prefer source-checked results, then the latest collected report. Other reports stay on profiles, and editor corrections are kept.
Missing results
Schools without results stay listed but are not ranked. Missing data does not mean poor results. Availability varies by country and curriculum; see our data page for details.
Daily updates
We check sources daily. “Last checked” is when we read the source, not when students took the exam. If a check fails, we keep the previous data.
School facts and fees
School details are reported, not independently verified. Fees use the published currency, year and age range. Other charges may apply; ask the school for the current total.
Independence
Schools cannot pay for a higher rank. There are no sponsored rankings or user ratings. To report an error, send the editor a source link.
